A friend and a philanthropist.
A few years ago we did this lovely shoot with the actress Pascal Pienaar.
Little did I know I would meet one of my favourite people on that day. My friend Bronwen Hurndall and I collaborated with Pascal. We drove up from Bloemfontein to Pretoria and met Pascal at her family home. Bronwen from BH Make-up Studio did her make-up to perfection.
What struck me about Pascal right away was her giving heart. She was coming back from a day at the SPCA before our shoot and her heart towards animals shone through. Her connection with her lovely collie, Ned, was contagious. I was drawn to her lovely animal-loving personality. She struck me right away as one of those truly authentic, pure-hearted people. She is a rare, true philanthropist. She wanted to change the world for the better.
We became friends and since then Pascal has really changed the green footprint of South Africa with her "Spekboom' project. Thousands of followers throughout South Africa have planted the trees because her drive and determination.
During the Covid-19 crisis that hit South Africa Pascal has once again shown her good heart by raising funds with vitamins for malnourished children.
As an adamant supporter of positivity in this time, I would like to encourage Meraci readers to support Pascal's efforts to help those who are most vulnerable in this time.
