I asked my beautiful friends to share their experience of pregnancy during 2020. I am so very happy that Shaun gives us insight to this. This article even gave me a much needed boost. Their experience really puts everything into perspective.

It’s crazy how time flies...
We discovered we’re pregnant in December 2019, at 12 weeks, while on the pill!!! YES, that actually happens!!! So Luke totally came as a surprise, like a shooting star, just appearing suddenly
Since then 2020 started as a bang, with so many schedules and plans made in advance. We planned on having a last breakaway holiday, to organize Chané a beautiful stork-tea, scheduled all dr’s appointments, so the lists went on...
But, then Covid-19 happened... and everything went ‘lockdown’ from there.
I am reminded of the scripture in Proverbs 16:9: “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps”.
"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps”.
I must say that even though NOTHING went as we planned, or that our brains could not even comprehend what time we where entering... not being able to work, uncertainty around the pregnancy with social distancing protocols... we survived it all because we allowed our minds to trust in the One who determines our steps.
We got our ‘long-ass’ breakaway... Chané was blessed by a drive-through stork-tea with so many gifts and love from amazing family and friends all around us. I sat in the car during many appointments waiting to here if the dr could get a picture of Luke’s face... and I even survived that!
What is the moral of the story here...
Even though life as we know it can change so drastically, that it can scare the life out of you... remember to trust in the Lord who promised us:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”. - John 14:27
Every cloud surely has a silver lining... I tell you 🤎
Meraci Perspective | A glimmer of hope
The lockdown and Covid-19 pandemic has really touched so many people in different ways. When I entered 2020 my only New Years resolution was self-actualisation. Little did I realise that 2020 would be the best character building experience I would ever encounter. Every day you have to pick yourself up and make a decision that you are going to embrace the challenges flung at you and then you realise that you are not alone, but that millions of people in all walks of life is also going through their own battles.
My lockdown story is different to Chane and Shaun's story, but their endearing relationship, their trust in one another and their belief in God's promise gives me hope for my own adventure through 2020.
